    7-Diethylamino-4-methylcoumarin (C1) is a dual-chromophore fluorescent laser dye with laser action at 460nm. Terbium-based metal-organic framework materials can be used to dope C1, and their potential use is ratiometric temperature sensing. C1 can also be used as a fluorescent initiator and as a fluorescent whitening agent for the synthesis of light-emitting diode (LED)-based hydrogels.
